In the big picture, what Jackie Robinson did with his life was a complete success. His career sparked the integration of baseball, and paved the way for all non caucasian baseball players to play professionally. There was a negative however, what Jackie went though during the majority of his life caused his early death. During last years of his life he became very weak and he hobbled when he walked, He contracted blood clots in his legs which was the main cause of his walking becoming labored. Also, towards the end of his life Jackie's once sharp eyes, became almost 50% blind. This, along with his diabetes mixed with heart disease led to his early death. Many believe his sons death mixed with all the insults and weight Jackie had to carry around his whole life finally took their toll. Jackie gave his life for something that was greater then any one person.
